CHM Hammer Mill

The product is fed through a spacious feed inlet chute above the rotor. Centrifugal force causes the flat metal oscillating hammers attached to the rotor body to swing outward, impacting the milling material circulating inside the milling chamber. This causes the product to not only be hurled against the impact plates on the walls of the housing, but also against the classifier plate or separating grate on the floor. The final particle size is determined by the openings in the classifier plate or by the spacing of the grating.

CUM Universal Mill

This fine impact mill can be operated using different milling elements:

- Wing Beater
- Blast Rotor
- Corrugated Milling Discs
- Pin Discs, single rotation
- Pin Discs, counter rotation

Wing Beater

This cross-shaped rotor is equipped with replaceable beater bars. During the milling process, the product enters the center of the machine where it collides with the beater bars. They in turn radiate the product outward onto the stator basket. The vortex created by the beater bars draws the particles up enabling them to be hit by the oncoming bars. The product fineness can be varied through the use of different stators or by adjusting the rotational speed.

Blast Rotor

The blast rotor is also a combination impact, shear crusher. In comparison to the wing beater this massive, screwed on rotor is larger in size and can be equipped with more replaceable beater bars. It can also be operated at a much higher rotational speed. Here too, the product fineness can be controlled by varying the rotational speed and the choice of stators.

Corrugated Milling Disc

The function of the corrugated milling disc is a shearing action based upon the same rotor/stator principle. The rotor and stator are the same shape or geometry. The milling discs are equipped with a large number of sharp, polished cutting blades; these are available in various dimensions, depending upon the desired fineness. The spacing of the discs can be altered to adjust the final fineness.

Pin Disc, single rotation

The product particles are milled by the impact created by one stationary pin disc and one pin disc rotating at high speed. Size reduction occurs through the collision of the particles with the pins and particle to particle. The fineness can be determined by adjusting the feed volume and the rotational speed of the disc. In addition, the final fineness can be altered by the number and geometry of the pins.

Pin Disc, counter rotation

The stator disc of the single rotational mill becomes a rotor when a second drive is installed in the door of the Universal Mill. The counter rotational movement of these two discs increases the relative tip speed up to 250 msec-1.
